Alpha Membership & Membership Plus Cancellation and Change Policy

Whether you’re a current Alpha member or a former patient, we’re committed to your health and well-being. Some health conditions require regular interactions with a medical provider, and in those instances in particular, we want to make sure your care team can connect with you when you request to cancel or change your membership. Our cancellation and membership change policy is designed with your continuous care as our priority, and to empower you to make an informed decision about your healthcare journey. 

Canceling Membership

You may request to cancel your membership at any time. To cancel your membership, log in to your Alpha account, select the account page, and go to “Membership & Payment.” From there, go to “Membership Details” and select “Cancel Membership,” where you’ll be asked to confirm and submit your request to cancel.

After you’ve submitted your request to cancel, a member from your care team will send you a secure message on our platform. If you acknowledge and confirm your cancellation in this message, your care team will continue to process your cancellation and an email confirmation will be sent. You’ll still have access to your membership benefits through the end of your current billing period. Please note that as stated in our Terms of Use, membership fees are not refundable for the current 30-day period, once charged. All Alpha members receive an automated email five days before the next renewal date as advance notice of upcoming charges. 

How Canceling Impacts Pending Prescription Refills

In addition, please note that membership is separate from prescription refills.  Canceling your membership will not cancel any upcoming or automatic prescription refills. To cancel prescription refills, please contact your care team through our secure messaging system. If you choose not to cancel an automatic refill, it will continue to be refilled, and you will continue to be charged for medication.

Changing Membership Plans

If you have Alpha Membership or Alpha Membership Plus, switching plans is easy.

Changing from Alpha Membership to Alpha Membership Plus

If you have Alpha Membership, you can switch to Alpha Membership Plus by logging in to your Alpha account. Select the account page and go to “Membership & Payment.” From there, go to “Membership Details” and select “Change Membership.” You will be asked to confirm the change to Alpha Membership Plus. After confirming the change to Membership Plus and once your payment is successfully processed, you’ll have immediate access to our weight loss, diabetes, and mental health services. If the payment method you have on file is declined, we’ll send a message with instructions on how to proceed. You’ll receive an automatic prorated refund based on your previous membership and be charged the new $49/month Membership Plus fee. Your new billing date will be one month from the date you changed to Membership Plus. 

Switching from Alpha Membership Plus to Alpha Membership 

You can make changes to your Alpha Membership for any subsequent month, following the current 30-day billing period. Alpha Membership Plus includes our weight loss, diabetes, and mental health services, which covers care for conditions like anxiety and depression. These conditions often necessitate frequent interactions with a medical provider. When changing from Membership Plus to Alpha Membership, your care team will need to confirm this change with you to ensure you’re receiving the care you need.

To remove access to weight loss, diabetes, and mental health services and switch to Alpha Membership, log in to your Alpha account. Select the account page and go to “Membership & Payment.” From there, go to “Membership Details” and select “Change Membership” where you’ll be asked to confirm and submit your request to change to Alpha Membership. 

Once you submit your request, a member of your care team will send you a secure message about how to continue any needed care. Once you acknowledge and reply to this message, your care team will be able to process your request and initiate the change for the following month. Your Membership Plus will remain active until your next billing date, so you can access your Plus benefits until then. Your Alpha Membership will begin on your next billing date and you will be charged the new amount of $29. You’ll receive a confirmation email welcoming you to Alpha Membership when the change has been processed. 

We recommend that you request to switch your membership at least 5 days before your next renewal date to prevent a charge for the next month of Membership Plus. All Alpha members receive an automated email five days before the next renewal date as advance notice of upcoming charges.
