How does Alpha treat Type 2 Diabetes?

You and your Alpha Provider will work together on a personalized treatment plan that fits your lifestyle and health goals. Treatment is individualized, and may include medication, monitoring blood glucose levels, and optional dietitian support. You’ll be able to get care on your schedule, and have medications shipped directly to you.

Does Alpha provide any supplies for monitoring blood glucose levels?

Your Alpha Provider can prescribe a continuous glucose monitor (CGM) to help you track your blood sugar. If you have a device you’re already using, you can choose to keep it or try a CGM that can help you understand your blood glucose at any given time, without the need for finger pricks or strips.

How much does treatment cost?

Available with Alpha Membership Plus, your visit includes a careful medical review from an Alpha Provider and a personalized treatment plan. You'll have access to follow-up visits and additional support, like a customized nutrition plan with a registered dietitian educator. If you choose to have your prescription sent to your chosen pharmacy, please check with them for availability and cost as prices for medication and copays vary depending on your insurance plan.

Prescription Medication for Diabetes

Alpha offers several evidence-based medications for type 2 diabetes and some cases of prediabetes. Alpha can also prescribe a continuous glucose monitor (CGM) to help you and your provider keep track of your glucose levels and see trends. Prescriptions can be sent to your local or preferred pharmacy.
